What an absolutely incredible day! We left our camp in Bozeman this morning and embarked on another scenic drive, making our way to the Red Rock RV Park in Island Park, Idaho. Of course, we couldn't resist stopping for pictures at various breathtaking spots along the way, Montana just keeps on giving!
After arriving and getting our motorhome all set up at our new basecamp, we decided to try a local spot for supper. We found Cafe Sabor and oh my goodness, the food was delicious! And seriously, they had the best street tacos I've ever tasted. We might have to go back!
Our original plan was to take it easy tonight after the drive, but the call of Yellowstone was just too strong! We made a spontaneous decision to head right into the park to check out a couple of sites. And boy, are we glad we did!
Today, we officially added Idaho and Wyoming to our list of new states visited on this trip! So many states, so many adventures!
We thought Glacier was spectacular (and it truly was!), but after just a few hours in Yellowstone, it's officially my favorite National Park! The sheer diversity and wonder here are unmatched.
We dove straight into the wonders, seeing incredible geysers erupting, and gazing in awe at the majestic Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. But the wildlife? That was the real showstopper.
We saw magnificent bison roaming freely, graceful deer, a shy black bear (from a safe distance, of course!), and plenty of elk. And just as we were leaving the park, we hit the jackpot – an entire elk family with four adorable babies! It was the perfect end to our first taste of Yellowstone.
Tomorrow, we're setting our alarms bright and early! Our plan is to head straight to Lamar Valley for more wildlife viewing. My camera is ready!
