And just like that, our epic Western adventure has come to an end! We said goodbye to the Des Moines East KOA this morning and hit the road for our final stretch home. We covered another significant distance today, driving around 525 miles!

Of course, no cross-country journey is complete without a stop at the World's Largest Truck Stop (Iowa 80 in Walcott, IA!). It’s a city in itself and a fascinating place to stretch your legs and grab a final road trip snack.

And then, just as the miles were ticking by, we officially made it home! The RV rolled into our driveway, and believe it or not, I even managed to mow the yard. Talk about jumping back into reality!

This trip was truly one for the books, packed with incredible sights and experiences. Here are some of the stats from our journey:

* We traveled through 11 states!

* The RV logged an impressive 3,785 miles!

* The Jeep wasn't far behind, covering 2,908 miles on its own adventures!

* And we used a grand total of 764 gallons of fuel to get us through it all.

We visited so many major sites, creating memories that will last a lifetime:

* National Parks: Theodore Roosevelt, Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Wind Cave, and Badlands.

* National Monuments: Devil's Tower and Mount Rushmore.

* State Parks: Buffalo Bill State Park and Custer State Park.

* Plus countless National Forests, scenic byways, and quirky roadside attractions!

My personal favorite? Hands down, Yellowstone National Park! The wildlife, the geysers, the sheer natural power – it was absolutely spectacular and everything I hoped for and more. The wildlife photography opportunities were unparalleled.

Time for Relaxing!

We've had some awesome adventures so far, and we're already looking forward to the many more to come. But first, a different kind of adventure awaits! We're heading back out tomorrow, but this time to Hardy Lake State Park in southern Indiana. This time, it's all about relaxing and staying in one place – no more packing up every day! Just chilling by the lake, maybe some easy hikes, and enjoying the stillness.

Thanks for following along on our epic journey! What was your favorite part of our adventure?
