Another day, another amazing transition! We packed up from the Devil's Tower KOA this morning, said goodbye to that impressive monolith, and set our sights on the legendary Black Hills of South Dakota.
Our first major stop was the historic town of Deadwood, SD. Stepping onto Main Street felt like walking back into a Western movie! We spent some time exploring the shops, soaking in the old-time atmosphere, and then grabbed lunch at Mustang Sally's. Those wings were great – a perfect refuel!
From Deadwood, we made our way through the famous motorcycle town of Sturgis, SD. Even though it wasn't Sturgis Rally time, you could still feel the vibe of the place.
Finally, we arrived at our new home for the next few nights: the Rapid City / Black Hills KOA. We got the RV quickly set up, and then headed out for supper at a familiar favorite – Pizza Ranch! You can't go wrong with their pizza and fried chicken buffet.
To cap off an already full day, we ended the evening with a visit to the iconic Mount Rushmore National Memorial! Seeing those colossal faces carved into the granite under the evening sky was truly awe-inspiring. It's such a powerful symbol of American history and engineering. What a perfect way to end our first day here in the Black Hills!
We're so excited to see what the next few days in South Dakota will bring. Stay tuned for more adventures!
