Another travel day, and what a scenic one it was! We packed up camp at the Cody KOA this morning and hit the road, heading for our next exciting destination. The drive was absolutely beautiful, taking us through the charming town of Ten Sleep and then deep into the stunning Bighorn National Forest. Traveling was a bit slower through the forest, as we were gaining serious elevation, hitting just under 10,000 feet! The air was crisp, and the views were fantastic.

We arrived at the Devil's Tower KOA, quickly got the RV all set up, and wasted no time heading out to explore. After visiting our first National Park (Yellowstone), it was really neat to check off our first National Monument: Devil's Tower! This iconic geological formation is even more impressive in person, rising dramatically from the surrounding landscape. Its unique columns are mesmerizing.

A major highlight for Val (and honestly, for all of us!) was stopping at Prairie Dog Town. These little critters are just endlessly entertaining, popping in and out of their burrows and chattering away. It’s impossible not to smile watching them!

For supper, we ate at The Diamond Bar at Devil's Tower, and I had a perfectly grilled steak – so delicious after a day of driving and exploring.

We ended the evening with a perfect movie night, watching "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." It was especially cool because the movie was partially filmed right here at Devil's Tower! Watching it with the real thing looming in the background added a whole new layer to the film.

What an incredible day of natural wonders and cinematic connections! Tomorrow, we'll see what the Black Hills have in store.
